De Slag bij Cambrai [ 20 november - 3 december 1917 ] was een Britse campaigne tijdens de Eerste
Wereldoorlog. Vooral bekend vanwege het eerste succesvolle gebruik van tanks. De britse aanval eindigde overigens in een mislukking.
Eperlecques Bunker - see Le Blockhaus
Deze bunker in het bos heeft enorma afmetingen: 1 hectare en 130.000 ton beton, 22 meter hoog. Gepland als
de eerste lanceerbasis voor ballistische raketten, was deze bunker bedoeld als een fabriek voor het produceren van vloeibare zuurstof en de assemblage van de V2-raket. Een bezoek aan de bunker wordt
verlevendigd middels audio/ video en voert u door de geschiedenis en techniek van oorlogsjaren.
La Coupole - geschiedenis en gedenken
Geschiedenis en Gedenkcentrum in de regio Nord - Pas de Calais in La Coupole op ca. 5 km afstand van Saint-Omer.
Deze gigantische ondergrondse V2-raket lanceerplatform (de grootste ooit gebouwd) is uitgerust met de
nieuwste scenografische en audiovisuele hulpmiddelen (foto's, documentaires, modellen enz. ...). De
tentoonstelling is gebaseerd op twee documentaires: "Noord-Frankrijk in Duitse handen" en "Geheime wapens
van Hitler en de verovering van de ruimte". Verder tijdelijke tentoonstellingen.
